US drone maker signs distribution agreement with leading Latin American surveying equipment company

The upcoming Drone exhibition in Bogota, Colombia marks the first showing of UAV America’s extended flight UAV (UAS/drone) platform outside North America. The Eagle XF is a molded carbon-fiber quadcopter capable of carrying various payloads for 45+ minutes.  The commercial-grade drone has proven durability and is payload agnostic allowing for use in a multitude of applications: mapping and surveying, agriculture, emergency management, infrastructure inspection, and many other types of missions. Additionally, the Eagle XF platform is designed for rapid deployment, transport and shipping by quickly folding into a small footprint and stored in a weatherproof case.

Galileo Instruments established a drone division in 2013 to offer aerial technology solutions for mapping and surveying.  With headquarters based in Bogota, and field office in Medellin, Galileo’s autonomous vehicle division is led by Felipe Sanchez Gonzalez.  A number of multi-rotor platforms were considered and researched before choosing the Eagle XF by UAV America, Inc. (UAVA) for their solution.

According to Mr. Gonzalez, “We were looking for a way to integrate various payloads and technology into aerial vehicles and found limited options.  UAV America’s Eagle XF opens up that ability to us, allowing Galileo to stay ahead of the technology curve by having a very flexible platform that meets our customer requirements.”

UAV America, Inc. CEO Jim Cooper adds, “UAV America’s expertise in drone development in partnership with Galileo’s knowledge of the surveying and mapping industry translates directly to the success of the customer’s project, and offers the best of both companies’ strengths.”
